Henry F. Pulitzer : ウィキペディア英語版 | Henry F. Pulitzer
Henry F. Pulitzer was an art collector and connoisseur. He is also referred to as being a media mogul. He was the owner of the Pulitzer galleries in London and Bern, Switzerland. Pulitzer purchased the ''Isleworth Mona Lisa'' from English art collecter Hugh Blaker. He acquired it from the Blacker estate by selling his Kensington estate and all its contents. In 1966, he wrote and published a book, ''Where is the Mona Lisa?'' in which he presented the case that this painting was the unfinished portrait of Lisa del Giocondo by Leonardo da Vinci.〔Henry F. Pulitzer, ‘Where is the Mona Lisa’, 1966〕 Pulitzer left the painting to his girlfriend in his will. It then spent 40 years in the vault of a Swiss bank, from which it emerged to an enormous amount of attention in the art world and in the media.〔 ==References==
